Paul was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1961. He attended Mercer Island High School where he excelled at basketball. His basketball career continued while attending The University of Oregon, where he earned a degree in Business Management. Upon earning his degree, he founded National Educational Services in 1984 with the goal of helping school district and university employees obtain their financial goals.

After 35 years Paul has acquired a deep understanding of the financial and retirement planning needs of employees in the educational marketplace. In addition, Paul has a strong understanding of State Retirement System and State Teacher Retirement System plans and benefits. Paul now lives in Arizona, where he has resided since 2015. Outside of work, he spends most of his time with his wife and kids. He also enjoys golfing, playing tennis, and traveling.
